Last Monday, Cartoon Network launched a new animated series, Steven Universe, which tracks the adventures of the titular misfit — a young boy with a magical bellybutton (seriously) who teams up with a group of butt-kickin’ superheroines named Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl. The show, created by Adventure Time alum Rebecca Sugar, won big ratings among kids 6-11, particularly boys, making it one of the network’s biggest 2013 launches to date.
